Why the ISEE Matters

The Gateway to America’s Top Private & Independent Schools

The ISEE is accepted by over 1,200 independent schools across the United States and worldwide. Administered by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB), it is the most widely used private school admissions exam for students applying to grades 5 through 12 — and a critical factor in competitive high school admissions.

1,200+
independent schools accept ISEE scores worldwide
From elite New England boarding schools to top day schools nationwide, the ISEE is the standard admissions benchmark for the most selective private institutions.
~3 hrs
total exam length including 5 sections and two breaks
The Upper Level ISEE is 2 hrs 50 min with breaks. Stamina, pacing, and time management are as important as content knowledge.
760–940
scaled score range per section — stanines 1–9 used by schools
Schools rely on stanine scores (1–9) tied to national percentiles. A stanine of 7–9 is highly competitive. No penalty for wrong answers — always guess.

Our Philosophy

We Teach for Life — Not Just for the Test

The ISEE rewards genuine reasoning ability — not memorized tricks. Our Socratic approach builds the critical thinking skills that earn high stanines and succeed in demanding academic environments.

🧠

Questions, Not Answers

The ISEE’s Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning sections test how students think, not just what they know. Our Socratic method develops the precise reasoning skills the test is designed to measure.

🕑

Pacing & Stamina

Nearly 3 hours of testing across 5 sections demands both mental endurance and disciplined time management. We train students with timed full-length practice under real test conditions.

📈

Diagnostic-Driven

Every student begins with a diagnostic to pinpoint weaknesses across all five sections. We target the exact gaps between your student’s current stanines and their target school’s expectations.

🏗

Expert Instructors

Our online platform lets us bring the best ISEE instructors to your student regardless of location — including instructors who attended the very schools your student is targeting.

What Parents Are Saying

My daughter struggled with Verbal Reasoning — particularly the synonyms and sentence completions. After two months of preparation her stanine went from a 5 to an 8. She was accepted to her first-choice school. The Socratic approach made her think differently about language, not just memorize vocabulary.

★★★★★

My son is strong in math but Reading Comprehension was holding his overall stanines down. The timed practice sessions completely changed his approach — he learned to read actively and efficiently. $400 a month for this quality of instruction is extraordinary value.
